Axiom produced renders, animations and competition imagery for architects and developers. The absurdity of their situation was pointed out by a client: a studio that sells three-dimensional thinking was presenting its work as flat JPEG galleries, no different from any photographer's site. Their best argument — the quality of their models — was invisible until a pitch meeting, and by then half the shortlist decisions had already been made.
The brief centred on one ambition: let a visitor orbit an actual project model in the browser, on a laptop, without plugins. Around that, the site needed the conventional organs of a visualization studio done properly — cinematic render galleries that load fast despite heavy imagery, an awards and press archive for credibility with developer procurement teams, and written case narratives, because their clients are architects who read. The constraint throughout was performance: WebGL and 4K renders are heavy, and the audience often browses from site cabins and hotel wifi.
An in-browser model viewer using compressed glTF assets with progressive loading — visitors orbit, zoom and section flagship projects with no plugin and no install, even on mid-range hardware.
Sequenced, full-bleed render presentations with preloading and adaptive resolution — the drama of a showreel at a fraction of the weight.
Written project stories alongside the imagery: the brief, the constraints, the visual strategy — because architects and developers hire thinking, not just pixels.
A structured record of competition wins, jury citations and press coverage, designed for the procurement teams who check references before shortlisting.
Average session duration after launch — visitors stay to orbit models and read case narratives instead of bouncing off a thumbnail grid.
Competition wins the studio directly credits to using the live 3D viewer during pitch presentations, where rivals showed static boards.
Inbound enquiries from developers within a year, with the viewer the single most-shared page in the studio's outbound proposals.

“In pitches we now hand the client the model itself and let them fly through it. The room goes quiet, then someone asks who built the site. Both answers win us work.”
